If you suffer from mesothelioma, lung cancer, pleural plaques, asbestosis, or other lung problems due to asbestos exposure, contact an attorney at Phillips & Paolicelli, LLP, in New York, NY.
Asbestos is a dangerous fiber that was used for many years in insulation, on ships, in industrial equipment and materials, and in automobiles, and which naturally contaminates talc and talcum powder. Asbestos related injuries do not manifest until many years after your exposure, making it difficult to pursue compensation. That’s where we come in. Our extensive experience can help you obtain compensation for your and your family, which could fund medical treatments and support your loved ones.
Who We Are
Our attorneys have decades of experience helping victims of severe injuries in New York, the United States, and internationally. Asbestos defendants are massive corporations with endless resources. Our fierce tenacity, diplomatic savvy, and field experience can help even the odds, and arm you in your fight for justice.
What We Do
Our firm specializes in product liability and injury cases, and our asbestos team focuses on the unique hurdles of asbestos litigation. We have experience representing former Navy (and British Royal Navy) ship engineers, cruise line workers, auto mechanics, and factory workers. We are also one of few firms at the forefront of talc asbestos litigation. Our clients live all over the world and come from all walks of life. We know how to help you obtain the best outcome for you and your family. When you rely on our experience, we can help you:
Collect records and amass evidence: In order to give your claim a strong foundation, you’ll need to provide records or evidence of your asbestos exposure and that your lung disease is a result of that exposure. We know what you need to win your case or obtain the strongest settlement, and can collect those for you.
File your claim: Many asbestos claims go through a bankruptcy trust fund, which were set up at the height of asbestos litigation when asbestos companies went bankrupt as a result of all of the lawsuits against them. These can provide some compensation, but the bankruptcy trust claim can be complicated to file on your own. We will make sure the claim is filed and assessed properly to give you your best chance for success.
File your case: For many asbestos products, including talcum powder, there is no bankruptcy trust fund. That means we go after the companies that exposed you to asbestos the old-fashioned way; in court. We build every case to be trial-ready and aggressively pursue your claims against those who caused your injury.
Negotiate: We understand that no amount of money in the world could adequately compensate you for being given a terminal cancer, or for losing a loved one. Instead, we use our experience before juries and judges, and working with all manner of asbestos and talc defendants to try to get you the best financial outcome possible. That may mean taking your case all the way to a jury verdict, and it may mean taking a settlement; we tailor our practice to fit the individual needs of every client.
